Would you like to support people with a disability to explore the wonder of dance? Come and join our exciting new program: Dance Unlimited! CPL’s Screech Arts program wants you to share your love of dance with other like-minded individuals by assisting in the delivery of program activities and creating a fun and supportive workshop environment. If you have excellent communication skills, are friendly and patient as well as possess an interest in supporting people with disabilities to live the life they choose with passion then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us today!As the Screech Arts Dance Assistant you will be:Actively participating in the workshop alongside the clients.Encouraging clients to engage with the program content in a way that builds confidence and positive experience.Providing assistance to clients to dance and move through the space.Assisting clients with the use of communication devices within a safe framework.Assisting clients to choreograph their own dances or movement sequencesAdding to the program by offering their skills and knowledge of dance.You will not be responsible for:Any personal support; e.g. manual handling, personal care, administration of medication or meal assistance. These activities will be carried out by qualified support workers.Any development of operational documentation required as part of the monitoring and reporting of each client’s participation.This volunteer role will start on October 10th and will be on every Wednesday from 3pm to 5pm at Booval. The volunteer and CPL will regularly review this volunteer role based on the capacity of the volunteer to assist on an ongoing basis and the needs of CPL.You will be responsible for organising your transport to and from the location of this CPL role.Make a difference and support people with a disability to live the life they choose!Please note, at CPL all staff and volunteers must hold either a valid Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or a Yellow Card.
