We have volunteer roles in companionship, sport, administration and much more!We are always looking for volunteers to come and join our team, so we'd love to hear from you!  Are you a friendly and sociable person who loves to spend your Saturdays making new social connections with people in your community?CPL’s Arundel Support at Home service is looking for volunteers who can share their time two Saturdays per month, to connect in a social setting with clients in their group home. You will enjoy activities of mutual interest with clients, including just chatting and getting to know each other, sharing mutual interests and hobbies and taking part in fun home based activities!You will also have the opportunity to infrequently participate in activities occurring in the community, with the same clients. The service will let you know as and when events or activities come up and it will be totally up to you to choose whether you wish to participate. As the volunteer Social Companion you will be: Conducting friendly, professional encounters with clientsEngaging in social activities with clientsEncouraging clients to participate in and enjoy home based activitiesEncouraging and engaging clients to pursue and develop their hobby/interests You will not be responsible for: Any personal support; e.g. manual handling, personal care, administration of medication or meal assistance. These activities will be carried out by qualified support workers.This volunteer role takes place two Saturdays per month, every other week from 10am to 2pm or for the duration of the activity if an event is occurring. You will be responsible for organising your transport to and from the location of this CPL role.Make a difference and support people with a disability to live the life they choose!Please note, at CPL all staff and volunteers must hold either a valid Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or a Yellow Card.
