CPL Volunteers contribute to our mission of an inclusive society for all people; extending social connections with clients, reducing social isolation; and enhancing CPL services by sharing skills, time and mutual interests. Do you have a passion for plants and gardening? Do you need a great excuse to spend an extra couple of hours outdoors every week?
Do you know which veggies are great for planting in every season, or which herbs to grow the most happily together? CPL's Ashgrove service, is looking for a creative and passionate ‘green thumb’ to assist in maintaining their beautiful garden. Volunteer in our wonderful community space and help create an area filled with nature for clients to enjoy! If you’ve outgrown your own garden, why not come and get your hands dirty in ours!
As the Volunteer Gardener you will be:
- Maintaining the gardens including; trimming and weeding
- Watering the plant beds
- Planting and potting
- Clearing leaves and keeping the garden looking great
- Conducting friendly and professional encounters with clients in the garden
You will not be responsible for:
- Any personal support; e.g. manual handling, personal care, administration of medication or meal assistance. These activities will be carried out by qualified support workers.
This volunteer opportunity will occur on a week day that suits you; it would be great if you were available on a Friday! You're welcome to give back up to 15 hours per week - we'd love your support in our garden!
The volunteer and CPL will regularly review this volunteer role based on the capacity of the volunteer to assist on an ongoing basis and the needs of CPL.
You will be responsible for organising your transport to and from the location of this CPL role.

Please note, at CPL all staff and volunteers must hold either a valid Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or a Yellow Card. CPL will assist you to apply for these cards which are free for volunteers.
All CPL volunteers and students on placement engaging alongside persons with a disability are required to provide CPL with a certificate of completion for the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, as requested by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. There is no cost to complete this online training.
