Undercover Artist Festival is Australia’s premier disability-led performing arts festival!Spread over four incredible days of theatre, dance, comedy, music, poetry and more, Undercover Artists Festival is programmed during Brisbane Festival at Queensland Theatre, 20-23 September 2023.We are seeking incredible like-minded individuals looking to gain experience in the performing arts sector across a range of volunteer roles, such as production, front of house, administration, and event logistics.Volunteer RolesProduction volunteersOur Production Volunteers are behind the scenes, happy to move about and lift stage equipment with a smile. These volunteers will be supporting artists and technicians during bump-in (preparation) and bump-out (packing up). If you are happy to be on your feet and lift light objects under supervision, love to help and keen to see the inner workings of a performance - before the audience enter the theatre - we would love to hear from you!Front of House volunteersOur Front of House volunteers are confident, chatty, and happy to direct patrons. They’re our all-rounders, happy to help wherever needed. These volunteers will float around the foyer at Queensland Theatre, serving as points of contact for our patrons and guests. They will assist in ushering audiences to their designated theatres, and offering helpful guidance whenever needed. They may assist with our Opening Night goodie bags (and join the party, too!).If you love to help people and are keen to be a warm, friendly face for Undercover Artist Festival, we would love to hear from you!The volunteer in this role needs to know where and how to direct patrons to accessible materials. Training provided. Applications from Auslan fluent volunteers are strongly encouraged.Volunteer Requirements Induction: All volunteers are required to attend an induction session prior to Undercover Artist Festival.Location: Online via Zoom Date: Thursday 14 September 2023 Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pmThe induction will include an introduction to the Undercover Artist 2023 Festival Team, basic disability awareness and accessibility training, information on your specific role, and insights into the Undercover Artist Festival 2023 program.Uniform:Volunteers receive an Undercover Artist Festival t-shirt and lanyard. Enclosed shoes, and blue or black pants are to be worn (jeans are welcome). The Festival's colours are blue and black - don't be shy about embracing them!Age:Volunteers must be 18+ at time of Festival. E.g. If you are currently 17 but will be 18 by Festival (18 September 2023) please still apply.Volunteer session times:Volunteer sessions are a maximum of four hours, spread over four days during 20-23 September 2023. Production volunteers are required to be available 18-19 September or 25 September. All volunteer session times and dates are flexible based on individuals’ availability.Medical: Volunteers are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (two shots).What’s in it for you?
